Launched in 1945, the Datejust is Rolex's oldest collection and was created to celebrate the company's 40th anniversary. Unlike other Rolex watches, the Datejust is not designed for a specific activity or environment and  exists solely as a reliable, smart watch. Pioneered at the time, the Datejust was the first self-winding watch with a date  window and also the first Rolex watch to use the Jubilee bracelet design. Combined with the proven Oyster case, the Datejust is both sophisticated and elegant and is suitable for both casual and formal settings. The watch  also comes in a variety of dial designs, case sizes, and metals, making it the most versatile line in the Rolex collection. An integral part of the Rolex collection for more than 75 years, the Datejust is deeply ingrained in the public consciousness and for many it accurately represents Rolex. This watch has been worn quite a bit by celebrities over the years, including Dwight D Eisenhower and Martin Luther King Jr., and has appeared countless times in movies and television. The simplicity of the Datejust is one of its distinguishing features and one of the main reasons it has grown in popularity over the years. Winding and setting the watch is extremely easy to do: simply remove the crown from the case and turn it clockwise to wind the movement. Pulling out the crown with one click and rotating will set the date and a second click will set the time. Once the three movements are complete, press the crown, screw it back into the case and place the watch on your wrist and let the self-winding movement maintain power while you wear it.
